Interesantna snimka, negdje u USA. Čovjek je prošao samo sa masnicama.
Evo što je naučio taj dan:
"My advice would be to establish (IE, write up) a checklist for decision making, and adhere to it with extreme discipline. Today I did a number of things wrong, and all I can come up with in response to the question, "Why?" is that I just wasn't thinking objectively, and with enough discipline. My buddy and I even told each other before hiking up, "I am ok with not flying today. So let's be smart." But then we weren't.
Aborting because of one or even two red flags would have saved me from this terrible experience today.
1. Is this an established flying site? No. No one has ever launched here. --> POSSIBLE RED FLAG
2. Are the base wind and gust speeds within my rating as a pilot? No. --> DEFINITE RED FLAG
3. Have you consulted with a higher-rated pilot (or several) about this new flying site? No. --> DEFINITE RED FLAG
4. Is the landing zone constricted (ie, small and with obstacles)? Yes. --> POSSIBLE RED FLAG
5. Are you flying at high altitude? Yes. Very high. 12,500ft launch to be exact. --> POSSIBLE RED FLAG
6. Is the wind changing direction? Yes. --> DEFINITE RED FLAG.
7. If your first flight at the new site, are you launching after the thermal trigger temperature has been reached? Yes. --> DEFINITE RED FLAG."
