Advanced Manouver Warning: If you are very keen, you can fly a paraglider with the tips fully stalled while the middle is still flying by doing back-ears (pulling the most outboard rear lines on both sides). If you do that the tips will stall (but it takes a hefty pull), and the tips will then arc back while the middle is still flying. Be careful, because if you pull too much you can slow the wing so much that the middle will also stall (the recovery surge when you let go can be quite dramatic).
Back-ears is a standard descent procedure for high-end comp wings with the outer A and B pyramided to a single lower main line (which makes big-ears impossible). Generally, backears are done with speedbar applied.
