Mene najviše podsjeća na onu igračkicu na vrhu puhalice za balone sa kuglicom koju pokušavaš utjerati u rupicu.

Uvijek mi je drago vidjeti nove stvari i da se netko trudi da napravi za nesto novo. Nadam se da ce i iz ovog nakon nekoliko godina izaci pristojan uredaj. No kolko sam gledao (ukratko, nisam gledao cijele videe); ovo se bazira na inputu podataka koje ucitas u njega i pogadada termiku za ona podrucja za koja ima inpute....Meni netreba govoriti di bi mogli biti stupovi oko Ravne gore ili Ivancice, jer tu ionak znam sve napamet..... A negdje dalje, kad se krene u prelet, mislim da nemoze pogotiti nista jer ni nema inpute. O ove ostale điđimiđije ionak ima uredaj s kojim letim i sad.....U biti sa sondom, ima skoro sve funkcije ko i ovaj uredaj.....

"6.9 THERMAL SNIFFER
To utilize the thermal sniffer function, you must have an air speed probe connected. The
optional air speed probe should be plugged in to the right hand socket on the bottom of
the vario.
If this parameter (ADVANCED SETUP \ n. 8 POLA) is set to “OFF”, all display information
relating to McCready, McCready Equivalent, Thermal Sniffer is not displayed on the
instrument, creating a cleaner display for users not needing this functionality.
The thermal sniffer is an innovative function that helps you to detect a thermal early.
It alerts you with a sound and the popup message “THERMAL” when you are in a
thermal but your vario is still indicating sink because your sink rate is higher than the
speed of the rising air.
This function uses two parameters, the thermal strength and the time over which the
thermal must occur.
To set the thermal detection parameters, go to (ADVANCED SETUP \ n. 2 THEV) and
(ADVANCED SETUP \ n. 3 THET) to adjust the vertical speed (vario) and for how many
consecutive seconds this vertical speed has to be detected.
To use this function you need to set up the polar of your glider."

The main distinguishing feature of the device Thermocompass from other devices that are used for paragliding, is that the device detects new thermals.
Thermals creates around the turbulent air from the friction of air flows. The diameter of the zone of turbulence is much larger than the thermals. When pilot flight crosses the turbulent region of the thermal, Thermocompass calculate the exact direction of the center of the thermals along the gradient amplitude and phase fluctuations of turbulence.
Finding effective distance depends on the strength of thermals and approximately 300 - 500 meters. When the TC detects fluctuations of turbulence of the thermal, it sounds like a variometer.

In addition, the device uses a maps indicating the locations where the thermals are born. So you can plan your flight is most likely to find thermals. These maps are calculated before the start with preFlightEditor and depending on weather conditions.

I could try and see what it is all about. If you can convince me than I can spread good word.

2 flights, sailing same category (sport class), almost same pilot experience. Day without flight conditions, pre-frontal, no heat, no wind and high clouds and sun in the final phase.
One pilot only with Thermocompass, the other with one vario Xc trainer.
you can compare the time in flight, not the distance only.
